"പാടില്ല.... നിനക്കതിനു അവകാശമില്ല"

ഈ കുറിപ്പ് ഒരു ചര്‍ച്ചക്ക് വേണ്ടിമാത്രമല്ല പകരം ഈ നിമിഷം മുതല്‍ നാം അനുവര്‍ത്തിക്കേണ്ട വേറിട്ട ഒരു ചിന്തക്കുവേണ്ടിയാണ് ... അതുകൊണ്ടുണ്ടായെക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു സാമൂഹ്യ മാറ്റത്തിന് വേണ്ടിയാണു.

ഈ വിഷയവതരണത്തിന് കണക്കുകളോ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്കളോ കേരള സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ മുന്നില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കേണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല. കാരണം പീഡനങ്ങളുടെ വാര്‍ത്തകളില്ലാത്ത പത്രം ഇന്ന് നമുക്ക് അന്യമാണ്. ചര്‍ച്ചകളുടെയും ചാനല്‍ആഘോഷ പരിപടികളിലെയും അവസാനം എത്തിച്ചേരുന്ന പോംവഴികളില്‍ ചിലത് പെണ്‍കുട്ടികള്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ ജാഗ്രതയും കഴിവും പ്രതികരണ ശേഷിയും ഉള്ളവരായിരിക്കണം എന്നതാണ്. അത്തരം പോംവഴികള്‍ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെന്ന രീതിയില്‍ സ്ത്രീ ഹൃദയത്തില്‍ അടിച്ചേല്‍പ്പിക്കുന്ന മാനസ്സിക സങ്കര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ വളരെ വലുതാണ്. കാരണം തന്റെ ശരീരത്തെകുറിച്ച് ബോധവതിയകാതെ ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്കും ഇന്ന് ഒരാള്‍ കൂട്ടത്തിലും നില്ക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യമല്ല എന്നെതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ. കൂടാതെ പൊത്തില്‍ മരിച്ച 4 വയസ്സുകാരിയില്‍ നിന്നും 65 വയസ്സായ അമ്മയില്‍ നിന്നും എന്ത് പ്രധിരോധമാണ് സമൂഹം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ക്കും സ്ത്രീ പ്രതിരോധങ്ങളും ഈ പ്രവണതകര്‍ക്ക് അറുതി വരുത്താന്‍ കഴിയാതെ പോകുന്നു. ഉറക്കെ ചിരിക്കുകയും ചിന്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പെണ്ണിനോടും, രാത്രി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന ഉദ്ദ്യോഗസ്ഥയോടും സമൂഹത്തിന് ഒരു പോം വഴിയേ ഉപദേശിക്കാനാവുന്നുള്ളു, "പാടില്ലായിരുന്നു നീ അത് ഒഴിവാക്കേണ്ടതായിരുന്നു കാരണം നീ ഒരു പെണ്ണല്ലേ?"


സ്ത്രീകള്‍ക്കെതിരായ അതിക്രമങ്ങളുടെ വര്‍ദ്ധിച്ച തോതിന് പെണ്ണും അണും ഒരുപോലെ പ്രതികൂട് പങ്കിടുന്നു. വിദ്യാലയങ്ങളില്‍ ഒരളവുവരെ ലിംഗസമത്വം ‌പഠിച്ച് അനുവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടിക്ക് കുടുബമെന്ന സര്‍വ്വകാലശാല പുരുഷകേന്ദ്രീകൃത-ആധിപത്യ ജീവിത പാഠങ്ങളാണ് നല്കുന്നത്. ഉറക്കെ ചിരിച്ച ചേച്ചിയെ ശാസിക്കുന്ന ഏഴുവയസ്സുകാരനും, ഉപ്പില്ലാത്തതിന് ശകാരിക്കുന്ന മകനെയും "അവന്‍ വാല്യക്കാരനായി' എന്ന ബിരുദം നല്കി ആദരിക്കുന്ന, അഭിമാനിക്കുന്ന അമ്മയും അച്ചനും രണ്ടുതരം ഇരകളെ ഊട്ടിവളര്‍ത്തുകയാണ് . അമ്മയും ചേച്ചിയേയും പോലെ സമൂഹത്തിലെ ഏതു സ്ത്രീയും തനിക്ക് ഭരിക്കാവുന്ന തന്‍റെ ചോല്‍പ്പടിക്ക് നിര്‍ത്താവുന്ന, ഉപയോഗിക്കാവുന്ന വസ്തുവാണ് എന്ന അദൃശ്യപാഠഭാഗം അവന്‍ പലവുരു ഉരുവിട്ട് ഹൃദിസ്ഥമാക്കുന്നു. ഇത് മൗനമായി അനുവദിക്കുന്ന, അംഗീകരിക്കുന്ന എതൊരു ആണും പെണ്ണും രണ്ടു തരം ഇരകളെയാണ് വാര്‍ത്തെടുക്കുന്നത്. പീഡനത്തിന് ഇരയാകുന്ന പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയെയും ‍തെറ്റുചെയ്തുപോയതിന് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിന് , സമൂഹം കല്ലെറിയാന്‍ വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ട ആണ്‍കുട്ടിയെയും.


ഈ അവസ്ഥക്ക് ഒരു പരിഹാരമേയുള്ളു. പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയെങ്ങനെ വളരണം എന്ന ചര്‍ച്ച നമുക്ക് മാറ്റി വയ്ക്കാം. പകരം ആണ്‍കുട്ടി എങ്ങനെയാവണം എന്ന് ചര്‍ച്ചചെയ്യാം. ഇന്നലെവരെ ഒളിഞ്ഞും തെളി‍‍ഞ്ഞും അവള്‍ക്കു നേരെ ചുവന്നാക്ഷരങ്ങളില്‍ എഴുതി കാട്ടിയ "പാടില്ല നിനക്കതിനു അവകാശമില്ല" എന്ന പ്ലക്കാര്‍ഡ് അവന്‍റെ ലിംഗാസമത്വ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നേരെ ഉയര്‍ത്തിപിടിക്കാം. വിളറി വിയത്തു മരിച്ച ചിന്തകളുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുന്നില്‍ നില്ക്കുന്ന പെണ്‍കുട്ടിയും കൈവിലങ്ങുമായി നിര്‍വ്വികാരതയോടെ കോടതി വരാന്തയില്‍ നില്ക്കുന്ന ചെക്കനും കൈചൂണ്ടിപറയുന്നത് "നിങ്ങളാണ് കൂറ്റവാളി" എന്നാണ്.

അങ്ങനെ അതങ്ങു തീരുമാനിച്ചു. എന്‍ഡോസള്‍ഫാന്‍ രാജ്യവ്യാപകമായി നിരോധിക്കുന്നു. ഉത്പാദനം, ഉപയോഗം, വിപണനം ഒക്കെ... സ്വാഗതാര്‍ഹം തന്നെ...! ബൈലൈന്‍പോലെ ഒരു കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ക്കലും... രാജ്യത്ത് സംഭരണത്തിലുള്ള ബാക്കി എന്‍ഡോസള്‍ഫാന്‍ കയറ്റി അയക്കാം.!



വളരെ വിചിത്രമല്ലേ അങ്ങനോരു വിധി? എന്താണ് ഇങ്ങനെ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നതിനുപിന്നിലുള്ള താല്പര്യം എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല. ജിവനും ജീവജാലങ്ങള്‍ക്കു ഹാനികരമെന്നതുകൊണ്ടല്ലേ ഇങ്ങനെ തീരുമാനിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ എന്‍ഡോസള്‍ഫാന്‍ നിരോധനമേര്‍പ്പെടു്ത്താത്ത രാജ്യങ്ങളിലെ പാവങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ജീവനില്ലേ? ഇതെന്തു നീതീ...? നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലെ അമ്പല ചുവരെഴുത്തുപോലെ .. പടികെട്ടു കയറുന്നതിനടുത്തുള്ള ചുവരില്‍ "ഒരു ജാതി ഒരു മതം ഒരു ദൈവം മനുഷ്യന്" അമ്പലത്തിനകത്തേകുള്ള കവാടത്തിനരുകിലത്തെ ചുവരില്‍ "അഹിന്ദുക്കള്‍ക്ക് പ്രവേശനമില്ല" !!! അപ്പോള്‍ ആദ്യം പറഞ്ഞ ചുവരെഴുത്തിലെ 'മനുഷ്യന്‍' ഹിന്ദു മാത്രമാണോ എന്ന് സംശയം തോന്നുപോലെ വിചിത്രം!

ആതോ ജ‍ഡ്ജിമാരിലാരെങ്കിലും മലയാളിയാണോ?? നമ്മുടെ അതേ മാലിന്യ നിര്‍മാര്‍ജ്ജന സംസ്കാരം! Clean my yard and dumb in the neighbours backyard!!



അധികം വന്ന് കെട്ടികിടക്കുന്ന അരി ഒരു സങ്കോചവുമില്ലാതെ കടലില്‍താഴ്ത്താം... പക്ഷെ വിഷം.... അത് കയറ്റീ അയച്ചുതന്നെയാകണം...!

ഹിരോഷിമയില്‍ നിന്ന് കാസര്‍കോട്ടേക്ക് ഇനി എത്ര ദൂരം?!

ഇന്ന് ആഗസ്റ്റ് - 6, ഹിരോഷിമാ ദിനം. മനുഷ്യന്‍റെ വിവേചനമില്ലാത്ത ധാര്‍ഷ്ട്ര്യത്തിന്‍റെ ഓര്‍മ്മ ദിനം. ബലിയാടുകളായ, പേരറിയാത്ത, കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്ത, ഒരു പറ്റം മനുഷ്യരുടെ രക്തസാക്ഷിദിനവും. മനുഷ്യരാശിയെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച വിപത്തിന് ഇന്നേക്ക് 66 കൊല്ലം തികയുന്നു. ഏകദേ‍ശം രണ്ടു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം പേരുടെ ജീവനാണ്, സ്വപ്നങ്ങളാണ്, നാഗസാക്കിയിലും ഹിരോഷിമയിലും കരിഞ്ഞ് വെണ്ണീറായത്. അധിനിവേശത്തിനും ഭരണകൂടതീവ്രവാദങ്ങള്‍ക്കും എന്നും ബലിയാടാകുന്നത് സാധാരണക്കാരാണ്. അവരുടെ ശവക്കല്ലറകള്‍ക്ക് മേലേ ചവിട്ടി നിന്നു മാത്രമേ ഏത് ഭരണാധികാരിക്കും തന്‍രെ വിജയക്കൊടി നാട്ടാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുള്ളു. നമുക്കുമുന്നില്‍ ഉദാഹരണങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുപാടാണ്.

ഇന്ന് വികസനമെന്ന പേരില്‍ വിവേചനമില്ലാതെ അന്ധമായി നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന പുത്തന്‍ പദ്ധതികള്‍ ഇന്നും തുടരുന്ന, വളരുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്‍റ ക്രൂരവിനോദങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സാക്ഷ്യം പറയും. ശാസ്ത്രവും സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയും ഇന്ന് ആയുധങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സമാനമാണ്. 'ശാസ്ത്രം സാമൂഹ്യപുരോഗതിക്ക വേണ്ടി' എന്ന് തത്വത്തില്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്പോഴും വികസിതരാഷ്ട്ങ്ങള്‍ മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമേലെ അവ ആയുധമാക്കുമെന്ന ഭയം പ്രത്യക്ഷത്തില്‍ തന്നെ നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അണ്വ-ജൈവായുധങ്ങളുടെ വികസനം ഇന്ന് അഷ്ടിക്ക് വക കണ്ടെത്താനാവാതെ ഉഴറുന്ന ഏതു രാജ്യത്തിന്‍റെ വാര്‍ഷിക പദ്ധതികളില്‍ മുടങ്ങാതെ ഇടംപിടിക്കുന്നു.

ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്‍റെ തെററായ ഉപയോഗം തിരിച്ചറിയാന്‍, വേണ്ട എന്ന ഉറച്ച തീരുമാനം എടുക്കാന്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്ന പഠനങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്ക് പോരാതെ വരുന്നു. ചര്‍ച്ചകളും മാധ്യമ ആഘോഷങ്ങളുമല്ലാതെ മറ്റോരു പരിഹാരങ്ങള്‍ക്കും വകനല്കാതെ കാസര്‍കോട്ടെ പിഞ്ചു കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെയും ജീവിതങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്കു മുന്നില്‍ തൂങ്ങിയാടുന്നു.

The Rise and fall of Rupert Murdoch and his News Corporation

July 17th 2011 will be written bold in the world history of media as the fall of the media emperor, Rupert Murdoch, and the News International Corporation. He was trounced by the allegations in his empire followed by the phone hacking scandal in Britain. His newspaper ‘News of the World’ turned out to be a murky area of the empire against his hope that he could always hide the corruption, lies and the law breaking as part of the news ‘creation’.

Keith Rupert Murdoch inherited ‘News limited’ from his father in 1953. Firstly, he proved his business ability by acquiring the troubled news papers in Australia and New Zealand during 50’s and 60’s. In 1969, he expanded his empire to Britain by taking over then unsuccessful newspapers, News of the World and The Sun which he built later into Britain’s best selling dailies. By buying The Times, he expanded his market to US and procured US citizenship. By 2000, Murdoch’s News Corporation owned over 800 companies in more than 50 countries.

Developing a standardized pattern for his newspapers, adopting newer electronic publishing technologies with increased coverage to sports and scandals, highlighted with catchy headlines, Rupert anchored the flag of power in media. The yearly income of the News Corporation comprising of about 130 daily newspapers, 25 periodicals, and the TV channels ranging from the Fox News in America, Star TV and National Geographic to Kerala’s Asianet channel comes to about $ 3000Crore.

The modern trends in mass media and the explosion of news updates and highlights in the audio visual channels 24/7 had created an unseen fight for existence for the press media. It became unavoidable that to stand upright with these TV channels, the newspapers had to publish something sensational and authenticated. Murdoch’s Corporation had given acquiescence for the filthy custom of phone tapping and bribing for making their each daily issue a sensational. Even they appointed private detectives in media. By the time, the newspapers in the western countries have copied the custom of bribing and phone taping illegally for the benefit of the business. The situation collapsed when ‘The Guardian’ the press opponent of Rupert Murdoch’s ‘News of the World’ in Britain hoot the details of phone taping of a 13 year old girl who has been murdered in 2002. It was yet another business high-jack made “the Guardian” to open up the flaw rather than conserving human rights or press laws. Rival Newspapers, Metropolitan police investigations and politicians from all parties continued to throw accusations of phone hacking, bribing and other illegal investigative methods of journalism towards News Corporation. The protests of the people of Britain made the British consulate to take action against the Scandal. In the Parliament, Rupert Murdoch washed his hands brilliantly blaming the reporters involved in the scandal. He argued that his empire has over 5000 employees and hence can’t take the responsibility of illegal deed of one among them. The Imperialistic British government could not advocate silence for long due to the people protest and following agitations.

The confusions and the deteriorating news on the News Corporation reviewed loss in stock exchange market for the Murdoch’s company shares. Thus Murdoch decided to put an end to the controversial newspaper, News of the World, avoid further crash land to his business from an unknown height. Thus on July 17th the last edition of News of the World came out with the head line ‘We are Sorry’. The tower built with the scandalous blocks crashed down to Murdoch’s feet by the hit of another scandal.

Like any other institutions of the society Media too is in an evolution. The modern trends in media influences the society to a great extends. These new trends good and bad coins the phrase "The medium is the message" by Marshall McLuhan. There are various loopholes where media can reconstruct or destruct the society. Even though there is no press media giant as Rupert Murdoch in India, Indian media has visible signs of 'Rupert’s syndrome' of news sensation which shall be discussed thoroughly to be vigilant.

'ശാസ്ത്രം സാമൂഹ്യപുരോഗതിക്ക വേണ്ടി' എന്ന് തത്വത്തില്‍ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്പോഴും വികസിതരാഷ്ട്ങ്ങള്‍ മറ്റ് രാജ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമേലെ അവ ആയുധമാക്കുമെന്ന ഭയം പ്രത്യക്ഷത്തില്‍ തന്നെ നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അണ്വ-ജൈവായുധങ്ങളുടെ വികസനം ഇന്ന് അഷ്ടിക്ക് വക കണ്ടെത്താനാവാതെ ഉഴറുന്ന ഏതു രാജ്യത്തിന്‍റെ വാര്‍ഷിക പദ്ധതികളില്‍ മുടങ്ങാതെ ഇടംപിടിക്കുന്നു.



ശാസ്ത്രത്തിന്‍റെ തെററായ ഉപയോഗം തിരിച്ചറിയാന്‍, വേണ്ട എന്ന ഉറച്ച തീരുമാനം എടുക്കാന്‍ ജീവിക്കുന്ന പഠനങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്ക് പോരാതെ വരുന്നു. ചര്‍ച്ചകളും മാധ്യമ ആഘോഷങ്ങളുമല്ലാതെ മറ്റോരു പരിഹാരങ്ങള്‍ക്കും വകനല്കാതെ കാസര്‍കോട്ടെ പിഞ്ചു കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെയും ജീവിതങ്ങള്‍ നമുക്കു മുന്നില്‍ തൂങ്ങിയാടുന്നു.

അപ്പോഴും നിസ്സഹായതയും അതുപോലെ തന്നെ നിര്‍വ്വികാരതയും വിവസ്ത്രമാക്കുന്ന മനസ്സുമായി ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും...!!!

Poem and the Poetess

Poems are the bliss of a poignant heart which touches the reader with its vibrant colours and takes him to a world where the poet dreams on. It delineates the dreams, emotions, feelings, concepts, protests, perceptions of the poet. He submits his vision to the public to refine and to retry. It sometimes gets recorded in their minds, or may take them to an elation of joy. Also it might take him to the chancellery of his mind where he finds himself as an advocate as well as a defendant. Whatever the process may be the poet is in his fight towards socialization. His might and his life are embedded in the words he upholds.

Inspiration for each poet is different. He may get inspired by anything which strikes him in the course of life. But the brilliance lies in the capability of the poet to visualize it as he wishes to the reader. Loneliness to an extent is a great inspirer. It takes him to a mood where the only companionship he enjoys is he himself. He talks, blames, adores, loves in those passionate moments. In one of its magnitude, he feels to pen. The suppressed mind of the lone explodes through his words which gives him the feeling of tranquility. He finds immense joy in his achievement. Once he finds it working he will long for the moments spent with him to portray him through these lines. Barriers, time constrains, circumstances, the vocabulary, the language, nothing prevent him from this excitement.

To survive for a poet too is a struggle in this world. Thorns and horns always point to him as a mobster. It seems the struggle is severe and more to a poetess than to a poet. She is born in the field where norms and regulations rule her life. She is to act as if a puppet to its indicators. Not only her tongue, but her mind too is chained. Nos and Nots govern her life. The poet in her has to fight all these restrains to express her. Her words symbolize her feelings and her sufferings. They may hurt someone around. At the same time she too suffers to express. Many talented poetesses may have succumbed to the circumstances and adopted mere silence to earn peace in life with a peace less mind.

The poet has a significant role in this present world. He has to perform various tasks upon particular situations. The world has been put into such a complex situation where one finds it difficult to distinguish the right and most of the time feels it as an unidentifiable enigma. The man is behind the targeted returns in each second. Love, romance, passion, kindness, duty, discipline… everything is laid on the returning capital. The poet is not an alien too. He too is influenced in this tussle. But most the time the poet finds himself among the downtrodden, the deprived and the denied. He speaks for them. He acts for them. Who hears, is not his concern. But he roars through his writings.

The fancies and the fantasies, the poet brings make him unique. The symbols he exercises fascinate one to his world. He transfixes his ideas to the readers. He sets unconscious fire on the thoughts which flame the world for a neoteric mission. Its flames surpass the sheen of the fire from the Prometheus. Thus the legend passes on and goes on …
